EKEY-B Transaction Calculator

The EKEY-B Transaction Calculator is a resource provided to potential clients and customers who have adopted (or are considering adopting) EKEY-B authentication and KYC services.

The calculator is a free tool which will assist you to estimate the cost of EKEY-B transactions for your organization.

Inputs

The calculator has input fields for each of the four EKEY-B transaction 'Packs':

• PACK 1:  Primary Authentication
• PACK 2:  Instant Authentication
• PACK 3:  Enhanced Security Authentication
• PACK 4:  KYC Data Call

For each pack, simply enter your estimated annual transaction volume.

The calculator is dynamic and will compute as you enter or edit your estimated transaction volumes. It's not necessary to hit 'Enter' after entering transaction volumes.

Tables

For each Pack, a table will be displayed. The table provides a breakdown of the associated fee by Tier, according to the estimated annual transaction volume that you enter.

The number of tiers displayed will vary, depending on the annual transaction volume you enter.

Graphs

For each Pack, a graph will be displayed. The graphs provides a visual breakdown of the annual transaction volume by tier, and the rate being applied at each tier.

Rates reduce progressively as transaction volumes increase.

Summary

At the bottom of the calculator, a summary will be displayed. The summary provides an overview of the fees for each pack, including estimated annual and monthly totals.

The data can be downloaded in Excel (xlsx) format by clicking on the 'Download Data' button. 
 

 

We recommend keepin in mind the following general guidance when estimating your annual transaction volumes:

Mobile Device Transactions

Session initiated from mobile devices can utilize all four EKEY-B Packs.

Note that Pack 3 is intended specifically for mobile device transactions, as mobile devices allow for the secure storage and retrieval of refresh tokens.

Customer authentication for sessions initiated from mobile devices will typically use a combination of Packs 1 and 2.

Pack 1 creates a 90-day long term session, and will therefore be utilized 4 times per year for most users. Pack 2 will be typically be utilized to authenticate all other sessions.

Web Browser Transactions

Sessions initiated from web browsers can utilize Packs 1, 3 and 4.

Pack 3 is not able to be used for sessions initiated from web browsers, as web browsers are not (currently) able to securely store and retrieve refresh tokens.

Customer authentication for sessions initiated from web browsers will use Pack 1 for all sessions. 

Pack 1:  Primary Authentication

Used for customer authentication for sessions initiated from both mobile devices and web browsers. Establishes a long-term 90 day session.

Pack 2:  Instant Authentication

Used for the majority of customer authentications initiated from mobile devices. Able to be used after a 90 day long-term session has been established with a Pack 1 Primary Authentication.

Pack 3:  Enhanced  Security Authentication

Optional. Able to be built into workflows as required. Initiates a full biometric facial scan, and matches the user to their biometric facial signature stored in the Government database. Typically used for higher value transactions, sensitive transactions or when a user requests changes to their account details.

Pack 4:  KYC Data Call

Optional. Able to be built into workflows as required. Initiates a Know Your Customer (KYC) enquiry, with explicit customer consent. All relevant data is returned once consent is granted. Typically used by customers with KYC requirements stipulated by the Central Bank of Bahrain (CBB) or the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA), but can be used by any organisation subject to approval by the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA).
